We have strong expertise in conducting needs assessments, baseline surveys, mid-term and end-term project evaluations, impact assessments and value chain assessment. We have strong skills and knowledge in using quantitative and qualitative approaches and analysis techniques. We have the capacity to use mobile phone for data collection and web technology in data storage and analysis. These technologies have made our research work to be faster, more effective, efficient and reliable. We integrate action learning with the focus areas of our content (practices) across the main areas of participatory development and sustainable livelihoods. Our research approach is action oriented, based around key gaps in development practice, and where we pilot and implement our learnings. This is institutionalized within our work and happens via formal research projects.

At conceptual level, we design, implement and disseminate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) techniques and tools adapted to the needs of our clients. The development of support material for our clients includes development of research and evaluation tools and questions, criteria and indicators for Household Economic Assessments (HEA). It consists of provision of support for the coordination, synthesis of results, improvement and development of methodology, quality assurance and maintenance of the common database for system of results-oriented monitoring.
